Friends
I am looking specifically for peer-reviewed articles relating to the use of GIS
in
Journalism. Specifically- I am interested in studies related to the use of GIS
in
environmental reporting. I am also interested in finding out if GIS has been
investigated in the realm of visual learning theory-- whereas, "a picture is
worth a thousand words." I would think a well-designed map might be worth
the same or more. I am interested in all leads regarding these topics. I have
had little luck finding peer-reviewed literature concerning GIS in Journalism.
However, I am hoping I have just been looking in the wrong places. I am
working on a Master's degree in Journalism at West Virginia University... my
research component involves using GIS in Journalism.
I recently purchased Herzog's, "Mapping the News (ESRI Press) and it has
been some help.
I am also interested in looking at other literature as well (not necessarilty
peer-reviewed).
Thanks in advance.
