Enterprise Geographic Information System (EGIS --
http://hud.esri.com/egis/): Formerly a separate system called HUD
Environmental Maps, this upgraded system provides mapping tools for
displaying housing, environmental, emergency management and census
data. The feature, Map Your Community, lets you enter a street
address to retrieve various thematic maps. You can retrieve thematic
maps by using the advanced toolbar, which appears once the basic map
loads, or by browsing the topical folders, which appear to the right
of the basic map. When using the folders, click "refresh map" to load
the new thematic map.

The feature, HUD Locator Services, provides locator tools for
discovering addresses in flood plains or located next to toxic waste
handlers, or businesses emitting water or air discharges. It also
provides a tool (RC/EZ/EC Address Locator) for finding out if a
business or residence is located within a Renewal Community,
Empowerment Zone or Enterprise Community. Finally, the Single Family
Revitalization Area Locator helps you discover whether a particular
location is eligible for the discount sale programs offered in
revitalization areas. (et)
