Jeff,

This won't help the non-IRE members who are on the list, but go to
IRE.org and go to their resources page. Go to the tipsheet search and
search my last name and the word geodatabase. After you login using your
IRE membership number, you'll be able to download a tipsheet I did for
the Atlanta conference last summer on how to create your very own maps
using the functionality of geodatabases in ArcGIS 8/9 and the map
editing functions in ArcMap. It's pretty easy stuff once you get
started. I'd post it here for everyone but the PDF is 8 megs and likely
to choke most people's e-mail servers.
