FYI --
Dear NHGIS User,
I am pleased to announce the Minnesota Population Center GIS Summer
Workshop, to be held in Minneapolis on June 28 and 29, 2007. This training
session will use National Historical GIS (NHGIS) data and cover basic GIS
concepts such as preparing data for use in a GIS, joining data to GIS
mapping files, basic thematic mapping, geocoding, and spatial analysis. We
will focus on NHGIS, but participants will have an opportunity to discuss
their own GIS projects and ask questions about other boundary files and
attribute datasets.
For more information on the GIS Workshop, please visit

You can also register for the IPUMS Summer Workshop which will be offered
from June 25-27, 2007.
Sincerely,
Pétra Noble
MPC Spatial Core Director
