The poem u are about to read was written just before dawn several years ago
during one of my many stays in hospital. It clearly shows that a Mother's love
never dies in the heart of those she has bought into the world, a Mother not
only there to guide through a lifetime, but to show the way home.

""The Way to Go Home""

Yes, he was once his Mother's wee Sweetheart
He once was his Mother's Dear Son
And now as the years they have waged him
His body left useless and numb
He desperately calls for his Mother
To feel tender arms there enfold
To feel gentle strokes cross his brow, through his hair
To hear Mother's voice to ensure him and care
To show him the way to go home

What great knowledge a long life has taught us
Twas something we knew all along
That twas love that we need, it's our treasure
Long after the gold has all gone
Yes there's nothing more precious of value
Than to rest in a Mother's soft arms
To feel love without a condition
To feel love that can shelter from harm
To feel love that can wash away heartache
To feel love that can wash away pain
No matter what life it has given
A Mother's love always remains

God, grant that he'll soon hear her footsteps
As she reaches the side of his bed
With arms to enfold him with courage and love
No more tears, no more sorrow to shed
No more calls in the silence be needed
And the emptiness faded away
As in the arms of his Mother
He finally rests out the day
Yes, he finally rests out the day

This poem was inspired by the calls of a man in his eighties. Cancer has taken
over his body and as he lay in the fetal position he continually and desperately
called for his Mother whom had long ago passed over. Five minutes after writing
this poem i no longer heard his calls. I was told he had just passed over and i
choose to believe that his Mother finally came and showed him the way to go
home.

On this Mother's Day I send
Love & Massive Hugs
Elaine XXXXOOOO
