It is time for our 2008 Cinema and Psyche event! This Saturday
evening Bo Robertson will present Myths to Live By: Pygmalion as a
Modern Self-Fulfilling Prophecy. She will explore the “Pygmalion
Effect”, explaining how the teacher’s anticipation of a student’s
performance affects eventual outcomes. Films including Pygmalion, My
Fair Lady, Educating Rita and Anastasia will be used to illustrate
the richness of the mythic process that is activated in the
relationship between student and teacher. Bo herself is a passionate
teacher of the mind-body connection and the archetypes of Emotional
Intelligence. Do come along and share in an enlightening and
entertaining evening. http://www.jungdownunder.com/Sydney/sydney.htm

Meeting Venue: 484 Kent St Sydney

We were very fortunate to have Judith Pickering as our guest speaker
last month. In her talk entitled The Cure is Effected Through Love, A
Relational Approach to Individuation, Judith explored material
developed in her landmark book Being in Love, Therapeutic pathways
through psychological obstacles to love. Challenging the idea that
individuation is a process which is undertaken primarily by
ourselves, Judith explored the richness of the psychological work of
relationship. Using stories from her practice as an analyst and
couples therapist, and her own life, Judith illustrated in a lively
way how the psychological intricacies and complexities between two
people can be worked with in a way that transforms both. As she said,
the real person is so often better than our fantasies. Judith’s talk
was very well-received and the audience stayed on for one of the most
animated nights of post talk conversation over the tea cups that we
have ever seen! Many thanks Judith!

A reminder that on Sunday October 12 Joan Harcourt will be presenting
her Body/Soul workshop, Becoming Crones. Numbers are limited for
this, and are filling fast. Please book now to ensure a place. http://

I am also attaching a flyer for an upcoming Professional Development
Course in Dreamwork, which I am running starting in October.

I hope to see as many of you as is possible at our meeting on Saturday.

With best wishes
Sally Gillespie
