Dear Members and Friends
Greetings and Happy New Year! We are very fortunate to be starting
our program for the year this Saturday with a talk by Ernest
Hartmann , a Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University. Ernest is a
renowned dream researcher, who has published and lectured widely. In
his talk for us. ‘Dreaming, Weaving Threads Between Self and World’,
he will summarise his research of clinical work on dreams after
trauma, with particular focus on the Central Image of the dream and
its emotional power. Ernest will also introduce the Contemporary
Theory of dreams along with a discussion of the similarities between
dreams and poems. I know from experience, having seen Ernest talk
before in the States, that we are in for a very stimulating and
informative presentation. I do hope you can be there. For full
details:

Next month we have another overseas speaker, Roger Brooke, the author
of Jung and Phenomenology and the editor of Pathways into the Jungian
World. Roger will speak on Oedipus on March 14 and then present a
workshop on March 15 entitled ‘The Family Romance’ which will present
a Jungian model of infant and child development with an emphasis on
the interplay of the personal and archetypal dimensions of
experience. This is a fascinating topic which should not be missed by
anyone interested in exploring developmental processes from a
uniquely considered Jungian viewpoint. Please register immediately as
numbers are limited for this day:

Another event we are presenting in March is the James Hillman Reading
Group led by Peter Dicker, psychologist and Hillman scholar. This
will meet for the first time on March 20 at The Flannel Flower Room
31 White St Annandale 2038. Again numbers are strictly limited so
please register as soon as possible.

Also commencing in Sydney this March is a three year training led by
Jungian Analyst Robert Bosnak in his method of Embodied Imagination.
This leads to international certification and a membership in the
International Society for Embodied Imagination. See the prgram for
full details.
When times are times are tough in the external world, the inner life
beckons. Do come along and join us in our explorations of the world
of psyche.
Warm regards
