"Jung, Ecopsychology and the Sacred: Eco–spirituality and
Environmental Awareness"
talk by Dr.David Tacey
C.G. Jung Society of Sydney:
This month we are very fortunate to have Dr.David Tacey as our Guest
Speaker. David is an internationally renowned academic, and author of
nine books, including The Spirituality Revolution, ReEnchantment; The
New Australian Spirituality and the newly revised and republished
Edge of the Sacred: Jung, Psyche, Earth. This Saturday he will talk
for us on Jung, Ecopsychology and the Sacred: Eco–spirituality and
Environmental Awareness, reviewing the field of ecopsychology and its
sources in the work of Jung and Hillman. He will also consider the
relationship of ecopsychology to Aboriginal Australia and the local
environmental situation, along with the ways in which we might
develop ecological wisdom. David’s work is highly original and
relevant for us all, so this is a not-to-be missed event. Please

Last month academic and Hebrew scholar Lucy Davey was our Guest
Speaker. In her wonderfully titled talk, Can These Bones Live?, Lucy
amplified symbolic imagery in the work of the prophet Ezekiel. This
was a wonderfully vivid talk accompanied by rich and evocative images
including intersecting wheels in motion. Lucy’s consideration of the
contemporary resonances of Ezekiel’s battle to come to terms with
overwhelming changes in his life circumstances resonated with the
audience on many levels. We have invited Lucy to contribute a section
of this highly relevant talk to our forthcoming title Depth
Psychology, Disorder and Climate Change which she has generously
done. Thank you Lucy for such stimulating and moving insights.
Our Flyer this month is from Sandy Kondos, a psychotherapist and Sufi
student for 20 years, who will be presenting a series of 5 Saturday
afternoon talks in Paddington, on the power hidden in the darkness of
everyday life.
Our Noticeboard attachment this month features an advertisement from
Julia Meyerowitz-Katz for her practice in Jungian psychotherapy and

I am looking forward to meeting with many of you this Saturday.
