Re: ASSUMPTIONS IN SCIENCE: was Space and time

Hans Dieter Franke [4DWorldx] replied to Leo Vuyk [cyclesi], as follows:

Leo Vuyk [cyclesi] wrote: Re "What is science?" [21st century concepts.]

"Science (from the Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge" or "knowing")
is the effort to discover and increase human understanding of how
physical reality works. Using controlled methods, scientists collect
data in the form of observations, records of observable physical
evidence of natural phenomena, and analyze this information to
construct theoretical explanations of how things work. Knowledge in
science is gained through research. The methods of scientific
research include the generation of hypotheses about how natural
phenomena work, and experimentation that tests these hypotheses under
controlled conditions. The outcome or product of this empirical
scientific process is the formulation of theory that describes human
understanding of physical processes and facilitates prediction."

Hans Dieter Franke in [4DWorldx} then wrote: The above "is not general."

"Science is the process of selection of variables of order over a set of
manifolds of unknown complexity such that a known finite complexity can
appear. - Any result however expressed has known finite complexity."

Manifold: "A thing with many forms, parts, applications." (Oxford-CA +.)

"CETA" writes, & has written, a simpler definition of "What is science?"

"Science is when others, at other places, & other "times," can reproduce
the same results so that many of such minds can then create a "reality."

p.s. Such historical "times" are "temporal scalar labels" or "timetags."

Sincerely, 'peter' c. beamish, ph.d., director, "CETA-Research," Canada.
"CETA" is: "CommunicaTions Et (And) 'TEMPS (TIME = t + T)' AssociaTion."
- The seemingly important "MVP Concept" DEFINES: "A New Mind Concept." -
