Description

KSDhtmlEdit - DHTML Editor component build around the Internet Explorer Editing Platform - Copyright (C) 2003 - 2009 Kurt Senfer.

The main target of KSDhtmlEdit is to enable you to create an advanced HTML Editor within a day. If you are a Delphi programmer you can compile the demo exe source within the hour.

The mshtml build in edit engine is indeed feature rich, but its a struggle to dig up all the bits and pieces of necessary information and finally wrap it all up to a stable editor component. Instead of spending countless hours getting basic things like IServiceProvider, IHTMLChangeSink, IElementBehavior, IHTMLPainter and IDropTarget to work, you can start right off to expand the already very riche sets of commands and events that's build into KSDhtmlEdit - and you still have full access to the MSHTML DOM trough IWebBrowser2.

Originally (back in 2003) the component was targeted to replace DHTMLEdit (dhtmled.ocx) because MS already then warned that dhtmled.ocx wouldn't be part of future IE versions. Since then KSDhtmlEdit has evolved dramatically and now includes features like:
Advanced table handling like drag width and height of rows and columns and highlighting of selected cells.
Database enabled interface with build in support for loading and saving the edited document to a DB through a stream interface.
Build in Live Spell Checker support ( the demo exe has a build in spell checking based on the Addict 3 Spell Checker).
Easy Drag, Drop and Paste interface that enables you to investigate the dropped / pasted HTML source and even change it before its added to the edited document.
The ocx has build handling of multiple versions of the same ocx on a target PC (avoiding dll hell), thus making it totally painless to distribute the ocx together with your exe. The demo source show how to auto-install the ocx on the target PC.

KSDhtmlEdit.OCX is released under the GNU LGPL
