This Yahoo group was created to assist members and others planning to attend Los Angeles Mycological Society (LAMS) forays, meetings and other events in forming carpools (rideshares) to and from LAMS events. This is a "private" Yahoo page, meaning that ONLY other group members can see the information you have entered on the page. Because choosing a carpool partner is a very personal decision you are expected to use your REAL name and general geographic location (but not your exact address) in your group profile. All negotiations regarding carpool arrangements must be conducted directly between potential carpool participants. It is recommended that at least some of the negotiations be conducted by telephone. LAMS will NOT negotiate terms or intervene in disputes that might arise between carpool participants.

If you would like to form a carpool as a driver or join as a rider please send a message to the group indicating where you will be traveling from (eg LA Westside) and what events or events you will be traveling to (meeting, foray, etc.) You should also indicate what basis you will use for selecting a carpool partner (cost sharing, companionship, etc.)

This group is ONLY for the purpose of facilitating carpools between and among LAMS members and others planning to attend LAMS events. Discussions of mushrooms, mushroom hunting or general LAMS matters should be conducted on the LAMS discussion list which is available to LAMS members. Persons using the list for off-topic messages will be first warned and then removed from the group.
