General Meeting
November 10, 2009

Meeting was called to order by President Joe Nieters at 7:05 PM

Board Members Present:

President, Joe Nieters, Vice President, Jack Hostetter, Secretary, Lucy Wheeler, Treasurer, Jane Delaney, and Membership, Tricia Williamson.

Business/Presidents Report:

The October Minutes were e-mailed to all members. Having no objections from the members, the minutes were approved.

Reports of Officers, Boards, and Standing Committees:

Treasurer's Report: The current checking account contains $1008.00

Program Committee Report: No Additions or deletions of the upcoming programs

Reports of Special Committees

The Lake Arts annual Gala Event will be November, 20^th with Social Hour starting at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and entertainment and dancing at 8 p.m. The theme is "Under the Stars" and all Lake Arts Photo Members are encouraged to bring photos to display during the event. The Council will need help setting up the event on Thursday at Noon. Anyone interested in helping please call one of the club board members.

Unfinished Business and General Orders

The club will have a photo share on Saturday November 14, 2009 at Central Bank on 54 Business district by HH. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon and each photographer will take turns presenting their photos and discussing them. All members are encouraged to attend.

Program: "Four Seasons" was presented by Tricia Williamson.

Challenge Images: Members presented their photos which reflected the year of photographing one scene with the changes of light, seasons and weather.

December Photo Challenges will be the bi-annual photo scavenger photo shoot and will also include a Christmas celebration. Members are encouraged to bring a snack for the celebration.

Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned and was followed by social informal discussion. Two displays were set up; one for display of additional photos by the members and the second was photos for which any individual requested feedback and suggestions.

  Program Committee: For 2010, the board will collectively act as the program committee

  If you would like to assist with any of the above committees or want to offer any of your skills and time, please drop a note to any of the board members.  We are always in need of volunteers for something.




• LAPC Photo Share Event
  
  A Photo Share event will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, November 14th, at the the Lake Ozark branch of Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks.  The Lake Ozark branch is located near the intersection of county highway HH and business highway 54, across from J.J. Twigs restaurant in Lake Ozark.  The address is 1860 Bagnell Dam Blvd.  The event will run from 9:00 am until noon.
  
  Members are encouraged to bring a few of your favorite images as prints or as digital files to share with the group.  Even if you don't have an image to share, please come and participate.  It should be an interesting time.
  
  
• LAC Gala
  
  The Lake Arts Council will be holding their 2nd gala event on Friday, November 20th at the Osage National Golf Resort beginning at 6:00 pm.  Our club will have space to display several images.  If you have a few images that are finished and prepared for display (framed, matted, mounted, etc.) and would like to have them shown during the gala, please let me know or, more information you may contact Charlotte Shaffer of the council.  Her email address is: charlotte@...
  
  Additionally, there will be a silent auction to raise funds for the Lake Arts Council and they are asking for donations.  For information about making a donation, please contact;

  We also need a few volunteers to help set up LAPC display tables at Noon on Thursday.  If you can help, please send me an email (joe@...) to let me know.

• The Jefferson City Camera Club will be showing some of their art at the Raillton Gallery of the Miller Performing Arts Center.  There will be a reception on Thursday, December 10th.  The show runs from December 1 to December 18.  This would be a good chance to see what another club is doing with their photography.
  
  
• The Saint Louis Camera Club will be holding a seminar on Saturday, March 13, 2010, featuring Tom Murphy.  The seminar will be at the Maritz Auditorium in Fenton, MO.  Registration is at 8:15 AM with Seminar Start: 9:00 AM

• Don't forget -- the Scavenger Hunt is the topic at our December meeting.  You need four images from among the following topics;

• Also, at our December general membership meeting, please feel free to bring a snack to help celebrate the festive holiday season.  We usually have 10-15 members in attendance so there should be quite a variety of snacks to sample.
