Having problems with message search?
It really dose not sound exactly like the same problem, I had a similar issue when I changed the Drive with a Flash Card. Upon reassembly the screen went berserk; flashing and activating different programs in a random pattern. It seemed to do this spontaneously, but I noticed that it calmed down when I put it down. I ran my fingernail under the frame edges around the screen and it seemed to follow my finger nail somewhat, although not all the time. I did manage to cure it by carefully reassembling it again. The problem has not showed up again, but it did scare me a little.

By now I was getting to be an expert at opening up my units. I swapped the two cases, at no avail. The erratic behaviour was still present.
Just two days ago, I got my hands on a third unit, this one almost new.
