Jerry Wennstrom ~ Artist, author Jerry Wennstrom was born in New York
on January 13, 1950. He attended Rockland Community College and the
State University of New Paltz. After producing a large body of work,
at age 29 he set out to discover the rock-bottom truth of his life.
For years he questioned the limits of his creative life as a studio
painter. After destroying all of his art and giving away everything he
owned, Jerry began a life of unconditional trust, allowing life to
provide all that was needed. He lived this way for 15 years. In 1998
he moved to Washington State, where he eventually married Marilyn
Strong and produced a large new body of art. Marilyn and Jerry's
charming Whidbey Island home is now filled with his unique interactive
sculptures and paintings. Jerry also built a 40-foot meditation tower
on his property, which is featured along with his story in a book by
Laura Chester called Holy Personal.

Jerry's story is told in his book, The Inspired Heart: An Artist's
Journey of Transformation (foreword by Thomas Moore) published by
Sentient Publications and in the Parabola Magazine documentary film
called In the Hands of Alchemy: The Art and Life of Jerry Wennstrom.
There is also a Sentient Publications DVD with the same name, which
includes a short new film called Studio Dialogue. Studio Dialogue is a
presentation Jerry did before a live audience with music by Susan
McKeown, sung by Marilyn Strong. Jerry travels internationally
lecturing, teaching and presenting his film and work and he writes a
monthly piece on the spirit of the times for a New York City
consulting firm.

Jerry Wennstrom has presented at the Birmingham Art Museum, the
Seattle Art Museum, the EMP (Experience Music Project), Glen Arbor Art
Association, the Old Firehouse Art Center, Other Side Arts, Pacifica
Graduate Institute, UCS-NAROPA (Wisdom University), the Vancouver
Public Library, Western New Mexico University, California Institute of
the Arts and NYU. He has also done over 50 radio, TV and magazine
interviews and art features.

Notes from Nightingale

Courageous Souls Indeed! ~ For months I've been anticipating having
Robert Schwartz on Toward The Light (see below).  He is the author of
the splendid book, Courageous Souls: Do We Plan Our Life Challenges
Before Birth?, which addresses the possibility of one's soul planning
the challenges and suffering that one is faced with during one's
incarnation on this plane. Here is an excerpt taken from the prologue:

On February 25, 1969, Christina, a twenty-year-old administrative
assistant in the department of political science at Pomona College in
Claremont, California, went to the department's basement mailbox to
pick up her employer's mail. As she touched a package in the mailbox a
bomb detonated, hurling her across the room. Dust and soot filled the
air; six-foot splinters of wood shot like arrows into the cement wall
behind her. Flames from the explosion scorched Christina's face,

I am looking to research  how we all can further private dialogue between the
Soul and the Self in everyday life.

All thoughts and suggestions on stimulating and energising the capacity to
communicate with our Souls would be welcome.  This is difficult challenge. It
the process was easy, this ego controlled world would be so much more
harmonious.

Following an NDE, I wrote "My Self, My Soul", a dialogue between the Self and
the Soul, exploring that ultimately intimate relationship.

Is anyone receiving notices for the Light On The Water meetings taking
place on a Monday via this group?  If so, please disregard that, as
the meetings take place now on the fourth SATURDAY of the month from
9-11P ET (US)!

I've gone into the calendar on this site and it's showing the LOTW
meetings as being on Saturday, but I cannot figure out how to edit or
delete the wrong notifications.  Yahoo is definitely user-UNfriendly,
to say the least.  Their system is very barbaric and hard to navigate
through ... and I build websites!

Again, the LOTW meetings take place on the fourth SATURDAY (and we
just had one last night, so sorry you didn't join us!) and we hope
that you'll join us next month on 24 May.

Once again--and this is what yahoo is famous for--yahoo has got
adverts at the bottom and top of every page herein.  Don't you just
love it!?  One of their adverts is an attempt to sell copies of the
DVD/video of 'Life After Life' (LAL)--a film based on Dr. Raymond
Moody's book of the same title.

FYI, Toward The Light has got that DVD/video for sale and all proceeds
