I lost 29 pounds on The Zola Diet in 40 days. That’s amazing enough. But The Zola Diet team has connected me with an amazing amount of information on losing weight and keeping the weight off. The first thing they taught me is Why People Get Fat. And it’s not what you think it is. It’s not laziness, lack of exercise or gluttony. In fact, dieting the wrong way can contribute to weight gain.

There is a Special Report on their website, www.zoladiet.com called Three Things I Had to Get Through My Thick Skull To Have a Thinner Body. Get it. Read it. They’ll invite you to one of their upcoming Free Webinars and you can hear from Zola herself. The Zola Diet is the only one that works on your body and your brain to make you resistant to gaining back the weight.

ORNAMENT DRIVE 2009

FOR CHILDREN WITH HOPES & DREAMS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

To Whom It May Concern:

From:  Lyzzi Elliott - (Lucky Stikes Lanes) – Founder of Ornament Drive, Bonnie Coop-Mitchell and the Ornament Drive Committee

We wanted to take a minute to share with you one of Lyzzi's favorite Christmas memories:

' All year I look forward to putting up my Christmas Tree,

My Christmas Tree that holds the story of my life.

Each Christmas Santa brings me a new ornament for my tree,

Twenty-Four ornaments will tell you my childhood at just a glance.

Baby's First Christmas, Ballet shoes at age 3, a Unicorn at 12.

Other ornaments come from years of friends, teachers & co-workers.

Ornaments from doctors and nurses each year.

All year I look forward to putting up my Christmas Tree.

Many holidays were celebrated as a family in the hospital,

All gathered around my hospital bed.

On Christmas Eve, hospital or home, I decorated my Christmas tree.

Every ornament I hung, I thought of the story that came with each one.

Stories of love, friendship, family and hope.

This year when I put up my Christmas tree,

I know Santa will bring me an Angel ornament,

For I am bringing this love and tradition to those in need.

Every child and adult needs a tree of their own,

A tree to share with the world the story of their life!'

Each year thousands of children spend the holidays alone in the hospital battling cancer or another heartbreaking illness. I have been in their position year after year. It is a scary thought, knowing that this may be your last Christmas and yet still having to spend it in the hospital. However, I have an amazing family that stuck by my side year after year. And with our Christmas tree tradition, it gave me hope that I would be okay for another year and that Christmas would come again.

As I visit each child I spend time with them and I explain how important it is to take each day as it comes and that the holidays' are just another day. I ask each child what his/her favorite holiday memory is, or A tradition their family has, or even what was the best gift they ever received. I take all of these memories and put them into a memory book. These memory books will be sent to each child as well as each person that donates an ornament!!!!

For the past 4 years I have gone to visit hundreds of children spending the holidays alone. Each year I bring them an ornament and share with them my Christmas tradition. This year while I am unable to visit the children in the hospital, several friends of mine will be stepping in to assist with the distribution of these Hope Ornaments.

I will not be able to participate this year because – I have received a true gift of life.  After years of waiting and weeks in hospitals just like yours, a private donor has provided me with life.  I received my organ transplant on 10/27/09 and am still recovering but it is because of this ornament drive that I received this organ.  It was because of the generosity of someone like you where I met this person.  They remembered my story and now that has come full circle back to me.  I received a call from a mother saying how her daughter had passed, but that her daughter was part of the ornament drive and that it meant so much to her, so she wanted me to receive her daughters organ.  I cannot put in words what this means to me – but if this can show that good things do happen from something even as small as a simple ornament, I wanted to be able to continue this tradition with the ornament drive and  I wanted to share my new story!

Now I need your help to get 1,500+ ornaments by Monday, December 14, 2009. Here are just a couple of examples of the type of ornaments for the children we are looking for:

-          Ballerina ornament for a little girl

-          Super hero ornament for a little boy

-          A star for a child to wish upon

-          One of your own ornaments you want to pass along

-          No Glass please

On Behalf of the 2009 Ornament Drive Committee:

Thank you for taking the time to read Lyzzi's story above, if you are able to help and donate ornaments we would love your help.  Please feel free to reach out to other members of your office, schools, local churches & organizations for donations of store bought ornaments to give a child this holiday season.

Your ornaments can be dropped off to my attention at MicroTek or contact me for other locationsThese children have so much of their lives to still experience but have to fight for their lives each and every day. Let's show these children that there is love and hope in this world and with all of our support they can have an entire future ahead of them. I want to help every sick child have the same positive outlook I have each and every day.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season 2009.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Coop-Mitchell and the 2009 Ornament Drive Committee

While the economy this year has been frightful , Out of Work Chicago wants to make one night for you delightful!

As Chicago’s premier networking organization for those seeking to find or improve employment, we are hoping to provide the office party experience so many will be missing. Be a part of our “Company Party for those Without a Company”.  After our families, some of the people we are closest to are co-workers. The workplace secret Santa, camaraderie and party are a more significant part of the holidays than you realize – until you don’t have them.

We have been lucky enough to enjoy a great year of growth and excitement while helping our members, and we want to continue that right into the New Year.  The Mid-America Club in the AON Building has been generous enough to host the event for us and we want you to be a part of it!

We want to give you a night of holiday fun and lighthearted entertainment with good food and drink, a chance to win gifts, dance to a live band – and of course, network.  This is the place for you if you are unemployed, an entrepreneur, an independent contractor, employed by a company not having a party this year or just looking for a great night out!

$10 will gain you entrance to this event AND like any company holiday party we want you to bring a guest, your spouse, partner, whomever you want to spend this party with!  Your $10 will include entry for your guest as long as they bring either a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots or a non-perishable food item for The Chicago Food Depository.  We will have collection bins for these items at the registration desk.

This fun night will be Wednesday, December 9th from 6-10 pm at The Mid-America Club in the AON building.  To register for this event please go to www.outofworkchicago.com/holiday

Reserve your place. We’ll explain everything during this free Webinar.

Zola will take you step-by-step through the four distinct phases of The Zola Diet. Find out why this is the last diet you will ever have to do.

If that weren’t a bold enough promise, here are four more things that make The Zola Diet different than all the others:

IT WORKS FAST. You lose as much as 30 to 40 pounds in just over a month. And no, that’s not hype. There’s no fine print with the disclaimer that says, "These results are not typical.” These results are normal when you go on The Zola Diet.

YOU REBOOT YOUR METABOLISM. Once you lose, this diet shows you how to eat more calories and better food and not gain weight. Other diets just leave you hanging. This one is designed to be the last one you’ll ever need.

YOU EAT GREAT FOOD: No eating out of a shrink-wrapped package or a drinking from a can. You’ll eat real food that you can cook in 20 minutes or less.

Eat Like a Gourmet. Look Like a Dream

YOU SAVE $$$: The Zola Diet costs less than most of the popular diets. We did a side-by-side comparison and we’ll show you the results.

During this presentation, you’ll learn exactly why people get fat.

ο‚· It’s not lack of will power

ο‚· It’s not lack of motivation

ο‚· It’s not just genetic

ο‚· It’s not laziness or sloth

ο‚· It’s not gluttony

ο‚· It’s not exercising too little

You’ll be blown away by the information we share in this webinar.

You can start the diet anytime you are ready to lose weight.

At The Zola Diet headquarters, we are already hearing from people who are planning which diet they are going to β€œtry” on January 2nd. Instead, we have people are starting NOW.

Why?

Because they realize the best gift they can give themselves is to get to a healthy weight sooner rather than later. You may decide it’s time break the cycle of gaining weight during the holidays and starving yourself in January and February.

You can even β€œcheat” on Thanksgiving and Christmas and still lose about 30 pounds by New Years Day. Lose even more later if you have more to lose.

But you’ve got to have the right information.

You will have it once you have attended the Webinar.

If you’ve struggled with your weight or know someone who has, please let them know about this Webinar. This is life-changing information.

While there are 86,400 seconds in a day, it takes 10 or less for others to form an impression of you. These decisions are based on your image, a combination of your appearance and behavior. Because you are in charge of how you look and how you act, you also are in charge of your personal and business success. Learn how your clothing color, style and fit and your walk, posture, handshakes, eye contact and facial expressions are among ingredients that govern your professional presence.  The words you choose enhance the positive impression you are creating nonverbally. Choose them wisely and make them another critical element in building relationships for the long term.

HEROES NEEDED: Sat. 11/21 LPZoo to host bone marrow registry drive for 9/11 firefighter who got cancer from WTC dust. Come meet him, save his life. Better than $$$ to charity

Lincoln Park Zoo is inviting Chicagoans to join the bone marrow registry and be a hero for a hero.

Sat. Nov. 21 - Lincoln Park Zoo from 9:30a to 3:30p. FREE
Directions http://tinyurl.com/IMaHeroLPZoo

Sun. Nov. 22 - Evanston's McGraw YMCA from 9:30am to 3:30 pm
Directions http://tinyurl.com/IMaHeroEvanston

Joining the registry is free and easy, and can, literally, save a life. A swab of the cheek is taken and the tissue type is added to the registry. That's it.

The drive is being hosted in honor of Roy Chelsen, a New York City firefighter with Chicago ties, who was a first responder to the World Trade Center attack on Sept. 11, 2001.

He is credited with saving the lives of six other firefighters that day. Because of his heroism following the terrorist attack, Roy is now in a fight for his own life. Roy, like several other 9/11 first responders, has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a FATAL immune system cancer.

A bone marrow donor could save his life – but he needs to find a match SOON. You could be the one who saves his life.
