Hello Everyone,
Tourism Malaysia will use more online advertising to promote the
country as the preferred holiday destination globally.
Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said stated that with the
Internet becoming the preferred media choice of many travellers,
online advertising would engage potential travelers and increase
consideration and favorability for Malaysia as a value-for-money
destination.
"Last year we spent almost RM200 million on billboards, magazines,
newspapers, radio and television advertising all around the world.
But for next year we will allocate some of the budget for Internet
advertising.
"It's cheaper than conservative or traditional advertising. The news
is fast, it's effective and you get clarification on the spot," she
said after launching Tourism Malaysia's Online Advertising Campaign
here today.
"Potential tourists will see what Malaysia is all about immediately
and will know that Malaysia is still peaceful," she said.
The Online Advertising Campaign starting this month until December is
jointly organised by Tourism Malaysia with Yahoo and MSN and is
targeting Indian and Oceania markets.
Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the target is to reach out to
about 12 million Indian and 17 million Oceania audiences.
