Problem : EDD OFF   Message List

Dear All,

Recently I was installing fresh copy of OPENSUSE 11 but there was a message - probing EDD ( EDD = off to disable ).

Same message came up for FEDORA 9 too.

After dis message nothing seems to happen. Kindly guide me through dis.

NOTE : booting with " noapic " wont help since it doesnt detect anything after EDD error.

Hi, ... Adding edd=off to the boot options in grub.conf on Fedora 9 or menu.lst in OpenSuSE 11 might help. e.g., kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.25-14.fc9.i686 ro...

you can try pci=off option to the kernel also mostly smp kernels have this kind of prob too u might try to boot the normal ups kernel image i mean the normal...
