As most of you are aware, earlier this year we combined the World Car Free Days discussion forum (formerly at CarFreeCafe@yahoogroups.com) with our larger Lots Less Cars program of which it is one (important) part. So by way of quick update:
o The World Car Free Days homepage is still at http://worldcarfreeday.com
o The discussion forum/Idea Factory can be clicked to from the top menu for the message archives, links, etc.
o The 2006 survey which just got underway can be reached from the menus – it pretty much explains itself
o There is also a support survey for Do-it-yourself Car Free Days which you will spot on the left menu
o The latest on the supporting international programs can be seen from that section of the site
There are several suggested themes for this year’s events, with the EU flagging Climate Change and the Carbusters World Car Free program Street Conversions, both great ideas and directly clickable here.
We have decided to get behind the idea of encouraging and supporting high profile local programs of “Low-Car Diets” as one possibly useful theme for any of the Days organized over the rest of this year. You will see more on that on the site, and I am pleased to report that while it was only posted yesterday it is already getting a lively response. We shall see.

PS and BTW: I very much like all three of this year’s chosen program themes.
