We would like to remind you of this upcoming event.
Missouri Archaeology Awareness Month: Call for Events
Date: Monday, June 10, 2002
Time: 12:00PM CDT (GMT-05:00)
This coming SEPTEMBER will mark the seventh annual Missouri
Archaeology Awareness Month. As in years past, it will again be
celebrated by a state-wide assortment of programs and exhibits
and, although September seems a long way off at the moment, NOW
is the time to start planning programs and exhibits so they can
be adequately publicized.
Last year there were about 65 separate events, although we'd
like to top that this year.
Please put together a program, exhibit, lecture, or other event
and notify Alan Banks, Archaeology Month Coordinator by June 10
so it can be included in the List of Events which will be sent
to all public schools and others who are interested in
archaeology.
Remember, your event doesn't necessarily need to be a
Cecil-B-DeMille-type extravaganza; EVERY exhibit, EVERY program,
EVERY lecture, and EVERY site visit -- big or small -- will help
increase the public awareness and education that archaeology
needs. Heck, sometimes they're even FUN.
If you or your organization would like to participate in this
year's Missouri Archaeology Awareness Month, just include the
following information ...
Presenter's name,
Event location,
Event date(s) and time(s),
Program title,
Short description, and
Contact phone number and/or e-mail address.
... and send the information to ...
