Mound City Archaeological Society Lecture: Dr. Gayle Fritz

As you may have heard, the theme of this year's Visiting Scholar Conference at
SIU Carbondale is "We Are What We Eat: Archaeology, Food, and Identity".

As a foretaste of that conference, the Mound City Archaeological Society (MCAS)
-- with the invaluable assistance of the Missouri Historical Society and the
Department of Anthropology at UM-St. Louis -- invites you to attend the next
event in its monthly lecture series, "Feasting at Early Cahokia: Was Corn King?"
featuring paleoethnobotanist Dr. Gayle Fritz, Associate Professor of
Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis.

This lecture will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 2 at the History Museum in
St. Louis' Forest Park. It will be preceded by a short business meeting of the
MCAS at 6:30pm. Both are free and open to the pubic and, as always, everyone is
welcome.

The MCAS is the St. Louis chapter of the Missouri Archaeological Society (MAS).
Its members work to whet the public's appetite for archaeological information
and encourage an appreciation of and respect for our region’s rich cultural
