RE: [MSServerSide] Visual Team System 2005: Web Test
Hello Mike, first of all who told
you that you can not run Team System Development and Test Edition edition
on the same machine?? I have deployed these two couple of times on the
same machine and never got an issue and never heard of it either, so kindly
verify this first and then look for other testing tools. These two complement
each other so how can they have compatibility issues, you can make unit
tests using Developer Edition and then manage these in a Test List using
Test Edition. You should also probably evaluate the Beta 1 of VSTS 2010
which is available for download as an installer and a VPC image as well.
VSTS 2010 has extensive testing features much more than the current version.
Thanks & Regards

Not exactly the answer I was looking for.
There is Team System For Developers, and
then there is Team System for Testers. I need access to the test
tools in Team System For Testers in Team System For Developers because
I have Team System For Developers on my system.
I not only want to do unit tests, but I would
also like to do some preliminary system tests as well.
Does anybody know where I can get these test
tools so that I can integrate them into my environment?

I'm seeking some suggestions in regard to a problem I am
trying to solve.
I have Visual Studio Team System 2005 for developers on my home system,
and I would like to have Team System 2005 for Testers on my system also.
However, from what I remember you can't mix the two.
My objective is to be able to design Web tests to test the presentation
logic in a Web application. I already have the ability to run unit tests
using what I have.
I would also like to be able to schedule these tests to run on a daily
basis as a regression test.
So, this is a combination of White Box and Black Box testing.
If there are any FREE add-ons that will meet my objective, that would be
great.
