This is a group with a diverse and eclectic membership and a forum where pretty much anything goes. We have all sorts of people here (quite literally!), with a very wide range of experience and expertise, but all of them have (at least) one thing in common - a predilection for the Macintosh, and anything even remotely related to it. So, any query or topic anyone can come up with will usually be answered by someone. As there don't seem to be that many problems with Macs, as often as not we end up discussing just about anything that takes our fancy.
Needless to say, we're always looking for other like-minded individuals to join us and add to our diversity, so if you're just looking in to see what we're about, give us a while before you decide whether or not you like it here. We take a bit of getting used to, compared to the average online message board. The best way to find out is to dive in and introduce yourself.
We also welcome new members who would like to join our teams running SETI@Home (Panther or later) and Folding@Home (for those running pre-Panther Macs), so if you'd like to help us work our way up the rankings, then please do join us.
The usual caveats apply, but there's always been minimal moderation here - in fact, the only thing we've had to do from time to time is ban the odd spammer or several. It would be good to keep things that way, so just be nice and friendly and we'll be able to!
Finally, do note that attachments are disallowed on posted messages, for sensible reasons - we really can't understand why Yahoo! even allows the option, given the inherent risks. If you have something you want to share, just upload it to the group's Files or Photos areas, which you can access via the menu on the webpage at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MacCafe
Thanks,
Nigel
