HI Keven/ All:
You're appearently within driving distance of Arcosanti. The late
Paolo Soleri's project. I am Steve. An amateur astronomer living up
near Lake Huron ( summers ) and in Mexico's volcano country much of
winters. Also I'm a big fan of anything to do with Mars.
I need some advice as you seem to live out in the Arizona region. MY
girlfriend just bought herself a RV and I want to find out about
possible rv camps or areas where I can use my telescope. I just
bought a new 8' scope and want to find out if the western skies are
what I've heard.I am retired on a pension and have the freedom to
travel. Lately, I've been watching the tv ads for Lowell Observatory
and wonder what you'd have to suggest about that . If you live out
that way, you might have suggestions about good places to stay where
I can use my scope and possibly things to visit.
Also, I'm looking to move out that way as Michigan has only 90 or so
nights that are clear each year.
From very near the shores of Lake Huron- dark skies and a clearly
visible Milkyway- Mars is bright and clear when the clouds stay away.
I've been able to see one of the poles.
Anyone wishing to do some stargazing up my way is invited to contact
me at thorius28@...
Clear skies and good observing to all
Steve Sulkanen
