Given that Ruby on Rails is big in the Agile community, I thought some of our
audience might be interested in the one day training that David Bock will be
giving.
While automated deployment has not yet become an Agile mantra the way CI has, it
should, given what an incredible headache deployment can be. With the tools and
techniques available today, not automating your deployment is like not having a
code repository.
For those of you only interested in Java or .Net, some of the tools and
techniques will apply to you, but not all. If interested you might want to drop
David Bock an email and ask about applicability, or whether he later plans to
provide training on your specific deployment concerns.
For those of you who don't know David Bock, he's smart, agile, an incredible
speaker, pragmatic to the core, an all around nice guy and a pillar of the DC
technical community.
The training price is also pretty darn good for a full day. Short of free, it's
the best I've seen from a professional. Check it out.

I'm going to be teaching a 1-day class on Rails deployment,
performance tuning, and production monitoring the day before our
regional RubyNation conference. It is going to cover a *lot* of
material.

If you have been to a RUG or JUG meeting, you know the venue - the
large FGM conference room in Reston, VA
If you use the registration code RUBYFAN the training is only $125.
And don't forget to register for RubyNation for 3 days of Ruby and
Rails immersion! Last year we sold out weeks before the event; seats
are going fast.
