That's the original "classic" LX200. The fact that the power is 18V is good, since that means it has v3.x firmware. The earliest classics ran on 12V and used

The "stuck at Meade prompt" is a very common problem with the classic, and there are at least several possible causes, but I've never heard of the eprom being

They are not EEproms, (That's electrically erasable prom) They are Eprom, just plain old erasable, to do that you need to blast them with a fairly short
