Great!
Astro_Jake has asked that we remove all of his posts from
any of the old archives uploaded here and has agreed to do
the same for any of my posts from archives uploaded to his
site.
I will be downloading the archives, making the deletions and
then uploading them again. I will then ask Strevin to delete
your original uploads so we can respect Astro_Jake's wishes.
Thanks again!

Hi...
I've created a folder "Meade-DS Archive"
containing ZIPped collections of the "Daily Digests"
from Feb 2001 through Jan 2003

Audra,
Thank you for the kind words...
The SAC7 camera I use (www.sac-imaging.com) is a long exposure color imager.
The longer the exposure, the more light accumulates on the CCD sensor, the
more detail of an object is resolved. I'm very pleased with the images the
SAC7 is capable of producing...nothing can compete for the price ($360.00?).
The SAC7 is good but the key to my imaging equation is my Hybrid DS mount. I
have refined my setup procedure as well as many other integral parts in the
system as a whole. The result is a few nice images. But I have a lot to
learn. : )
Thanks again...

Well, someone asked a question about where the owners/moderators of
the original Meade-DS were and I told them they were here. I was then
banned without a word from Meade-DS-Telescope. Since Jake (astro-jake)
is the only moderator there, I can only assume it was he who did it. I
guess that's how he intends to keep the groups from 'splitting' and
going two seperate ways.

Don't blame the Internet for the inevitable quirks and failings
of human nature.
Maybe there is still a chance for healing and consolidation.
Maybe everything is just a misunderstanding resulting from poor
communication.
I suggest we don't bother to be preoccupied by group politics
and instead to focus on telescopes!
Certainly more interesting!
Live and let live.

I have a low-speed hookup. But i have placed a ZIP file
containing (pretty much) all postings since May 2002
at my ISP's website as:
http://rseymour.home.wolfenet.com/MeadeDS.zip
do a "Save as..." on that, unpack, and feel free to put it
into the files area. 500 KB zipped, over 2.5MB text.
Date-sorted (oldest first).
As i resurrect my older systems (with earlier archives),
i'll make them available, too.

Hi Dom,
Without getting into the details, Yahoo deleted the group.
Christopher is working on trying to restore the original group.
Until that time, we're trying to identify any of the original members
who may have recieved daily/weekly digests so that at least some part
of the archives can be restored.

Hi Paul,
Christopher Erickson is the original owner of the Meade-DS Yahoo list.
A good friend of his was kind enough to start this group (which Chris
is a member) and we're hoping to gain some of the message archives
back from members who may have kept digest formats of the list.
To my understanding, Christopher is working off-line with the Meade-
DS-Telescopes list to clear things up.
Yahoo has been contacted regarding the deletion. 'nuff said....bleh

Christopher,
You should be made the group owner. You should get control back.
Is the name "Mead-DS" gone forever? I just made my group "Mead_DS" when the
original went down. If you want "Mead_DS" its yours. With a little working of
the Yahoo controls you can get this group changed to "Mead_DS". I can delete
"Mead_DS" then you can rename this group.
Who is the turd that deleted your group? Did you have any moderators? Did you
give them that level of control?

I started a group "Meade_DS"
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Meade_DS (Do Not Join My Group)
to act as a replacement incase "Meade-DS" did not come back. Then I joined this
group "Meade-DS-Telescopes" because I thought this was run by the original

Ok all who was the original owner of the "Meade-DS" group?
Can the original list name "Meade-DS" be brought back?
Does Yahoo ever answer even one email?
Why does it matter? Because the old list was good and I do not want anyone
especially the guy that deleted his groups to benefit from his efforts. It is
only right that the original list owner get the new list and that is where I
will go.
Now where do I go? :-}
Smokin Paul
P.S. Please do not join my list "Meade_DS" and tell the original owner he can
have my new list if he prefers the name. I want him to get his group back.
All,
If anyone has kept the old email archives in "daily digest" mode and
would be willing to copy and chronologically paste them to a large
text file that can be uploaded into the Files section of MeadeDS,
that would be greatly appreciated.
Also, anyone who is willing to take some time to work on recreating-
restoring the Files, Photos and Links section of MeadeDS will be
blessed too.

I was the owner/moderator of the original group and the other group
was created without my knowledge or consent.

I just saw the regrouping of this group so joined but I previously
joined another ds group a day or so ago that formed up at
ds-meade-telescopes because of the loss of the original sight. At
already 57 members I would think that this group should be joined with
that group. Post there claim that the original archives are being sorted
to be uploaded on that site.

How thoughtful for someone to take the reigns of your group:-(
Hopefully you can contact this person and work this out before the
groups get too big.
