Yes, the DS series scopes are some of the ones partially made in China. Even many of Meade's $1,000+ scopes are partially made in China. I wouldn't worry too...

All of the "DS" scopes are made in China. Although they usually are a good value, they are nowhere near the quality of the original American made Meade scopes....
