You can easily make a power supply work for the Autostar mount. The motors are actually 12 volt motors and the mount works with much more authority at that...

Jim, Most likely, the trouble has to do with the alt drive, if it is one of the mounts that has nylon gears, has to do with a funny looking nut on the tension...
