Description

This group is for owners or potential owners of the Meade Deep Space Imager (DSI). The purpose of this group is to provide a location for discussion, questions and comments and for posting images made with the DSI. We welcome you to join and look forward to seeing some awesome images.

Congratulations to Rick Andersen, winner of the October monthly challenge, which was open to all targets.

Rick captured IC1805/Melotte 15 with a DSI Pro II, Antares 0.5x focal reducer, William Optics ZS80-II refractor, and Orion SII, Ha, and OIII filters mapped to RGB. The data totaled over 11 hours of exposure. Rick used Envisage for capture and dark subtraction, AIP4WIN for registration, and Fits Liberator and PhotoShop for processing.

Once again, all of the submissions were terrific photos. Congratulations to everyone!
Images and descriptions can be found in the Files folder: Files / Challenge Entries / 2009-10 Challenge.

Check out our Challenge "Wall of Fame" at Meade_DSI Wall of Fame . Feel Free to also visit our Off-Yahoo Site AutoStarSuite.Net for more forums, information, and member galleries.

While there, be sure to check out the Certified DSI Imager Program .

Re: Core of the Rose
Anybody else jealous of Stephen's "struggles"? Very nicely done, Stephen. I'm with Chuck. This goes high on the "hate" list. Dave

I usually am not much of a fan of synthetic color palette processes, but this Rosette changes my mind, and is simply perfection on all counts. You should try
