This group is for owners or potential owners of the Meade Deep Space Imager (DSI). The purpose of this group is to provide a location for discussion, questions and comments and for posting images made with the DSI. We welcome you to join and look forward to seeing some awesome images.
Congratulations to
Bill Snyder, winner of the June monthly challenge, which was open to all targets.
Bill captured M8, the Lagoon Nebula, using a DSI Pro III, imaging through a W.O. 80mm refractor. Data was collected using Ha, OIII, and SII filters, with total integration time of over 4 hours. A DSI Pro II guided the mount through a WO 66mm refractor and PHD.
He captured the data using Envisage software, stacked with CCD Stack, and
post-processed in PhotoShop and Focus Magic.
Both Bill's submission and Jeff Weiss' M51 are excellent, and their descriptions can be found in the Files folder: Files / Challenge Entries / June 2009.
Congratulations!
