This sounds a lot like what happened when I tried to get my LPI to work after
installing Autostarsuite 5.5. After connecting the LPI all the cameras became
unstable, system crashes and what-not, whether the LPI was connected or not. I
never did get it to work. But then it wouldn't work with the earlier version
either. Have you also tried to use an LPI?
This may be a long shot but you might try removing just the Meade LPI parts of
the install. I believe the install routine for AS 5.5 gives you a choice to not
install the LPI program or you can just go to the program directory and delete
it.
I mentioned over on Meade 4M that Envisage 7.xx needs at least Microsoft dot.Net
2.0. If you have installed the latest Autostarsuite 5.5 that should be in there.
I don't know if lack of dot.Net 2.0 would affect a pro 1 with those other
programs but it wouldn't hurt to have the updated version.
