Nothing whatsoever. It's about evolution.

A neat trick Rather than trying to open files, there's another option which seems to work. (I just tried it.) If you put the computer cursor on the file and press the right mouse button, this enables a copy to be saved onto your hard disc. Once it's downloaded, you can access the thing as often as you like.

Adding files Please remember to bear the capacity in mind. Personally, I tend to save older files of a similar sort of size onto my hard disc, and then delete them. That way, should anybody happen to want them, they can be reloaded. If 'old' files are lists of some kind, they shouldn't be deleted.

Bandwidth
Bandwidth is finite and this can cause difficulties with access. There are various things which might be tried in such circumstances. As mentioned above, one option is to copy rather than open. Other possibilities include: a. trying again later; or b. send the person who uploaded the file a polite e-mail asking if they could forward a copy. Experience suggests paleo-folk are both eccentric and unusually helpful. Of course, they might also happen to be in the middle of Patagonia and unable to respond for a few years.
