Greetings,   Just read the email concerning the book that your writing. I don't know if you would want to include this story or not but I wrote about this a while back.   Back in the fall of '92, I was sleeping when my baby daughter started crying; after calming her and putting her back to sleep I went back to bed myself. I had not been in bed for very long when I had noticed someone or something standing in my doorway. At first I thought it was one of my sons, so I started to get up and I realized that I could not move. The dark figure started moving towards me but did not get any bigger or any clearer. When it was within two feet of my face it suddenly disappeared and I was able to move again. I told my wife about my experience that night and she said that I was probably just dreaming. I had not thought about it again until we moved into the house we currently live in. We had just moved in and started to get our things organized, my wife and kids went to bed early but I stayed up to watch some late night programs. I fell asleep on the living-room floor and was awakened by someone kicking me in the head, not hard enough to hurt but enough to be annoying. When I turned around and looked up I saw my son sitting on the sofa and I asked him what he wanted. Just when he started to speak I saw something coming out of one of the bedrooms and moving toward the bathroom. After I was able to focus my sight I realized that it was my son and I quickly turned around and looked at the sofa and the person that I thought was my son had vanished. I asked my son if he had just been in the living-room, thinking that I had fallen back asleep and my son walked away. He said, "No, I just woke up to use the bathroom." I then asked him if his brother was still in bed, he looked in the bedroom and told me that he was asleep.   Since that night, I have seen some strange things in our house. Sometimes when I'm up late at night, I see flashes of dark patterns zooming from room to room, or hovering in front of the living-room windows. My sons have both seem these things as well.   Well it does not stop there, I moved again back in September and it looks like the dark figure has followed us again. I have seen this several times in my current home and have gotten use to it. But about two weeks ago I ran into one (literally) at work. I was patrolling the building early in the morning (between 2 & 3 am); I had just locked one of the doors on the upper floor when I seen this dark figure come from one of the rooms and vanish into the wall opposite of where it appeared. It was not a quick appearance like most, it kind of lingered there as if to say "Here I am, notice me." It still gives me chills when I walk that floor, even in the day time.   Vernon Wallace Feel free to use this story. Let me know when it comes out and the title.
