At this website we take an ALL HAZARDS approach. The NWS is charged to pass on tsunami warnings, for example.

Ham radio: WX4MIA at the Miami NWS office is usually listening on
147.000 (-600)PL 94.8 during severe weather warnings. That repeater is monitored regularly during the threat of severe weather, when it works. The backups:
147.150 in Coral Gables
146.835 in South Dade
147.180 in Downtown Miami
