MREP will be hosting three meetings in October:
Thurs Oct 9 in Escanaba: MREP BIOMASS MEETING
Mon Oct 13 in Ann Arbor: MREP SOLAR MEETING
Thurs Oct 23 in Cadillac: MREP WIND MEETING
In each of these cities on each of these dates, the Michigan Public
Service Commission will also be hosting a Consumer Forum meeting in
the early evening (6-8 p.m.). Everyone attending the MREP meetings
is also invited to attend the MPSC Consumer Forum meeting on the same
day, too.
The MREP Meetings will be held in the afternoon, roughly between 1
and 4 p.m., with the precise meeting times and locations still to be
worked out. We are attempting to find venues in each city where we
can offer the meetings by toll-free telephone and web-conference
capability, too, for those who are unable to travel to the meeting
site.
Each meeting will include a report on the brand new Michigan Energy
Legislation that just passed the House and Senate yesterday. Those
presentations will cover all the renewable energy and energy
efficiency provisions of the new laws, but they will also focus in
more detail specifically on Biomass, Solar, and Wind, respectively,
at the three venues.
Each meeting will also include reports on new Michigan renewable
energy projects, updates on Michigan renewable energy research and
development, and more.
Also, in conjunction with the Cadillac meeting and weather
permitting, we are trying to arrange for the opportunity for
participants to visit and tour the brand new Stoney Corners wind
farm, which has just completed construction on two 2.5 MW Fuhrlander
wind turbines very near to Cadillac.
Agendas will follow as soon as all the details can be worked out. If
you are interested in participating in the planning or making a
presentation at any of these meetings, please let me know.
