Welcome to the Midatlantic Astronomy Club E-mail Reflector!

There are lots of astronomy clubs, but not all of us have the time to attend the meetings and all that goes in to joining a club. Centered in Harford county Maryland, we set this reflector up as a forum to keep aware of upcoming viewing opportunities for astronomical events including comets, meteor showers, eclipses, etc., to provide help to those just getting started in astronomy, and to be able to share our experiences with others.

Many of us are beginners in astronomy, but we have some very experienced and helpful veterans here too. Whether you are just beginning to learn the constellations, or you are venturing into astrophotography, you are welcome here! We only require approval to keep out spammers.

The term club is used loosely as there are no dues, leadership or structure. It is our hope that this reflector will keep us more conscious and aware of upcoming events as we alert each other to current happenings and discuss astronomical topics.

This reflector has been set up to meet the following objectives:

1. Alert our group to upcoming events that will be visible from the Midatlantic region.

2. To provide a forum to share our experiences of actual observations (sending pictures when possible).

3. Distribute pertinent information such as links to video feeds for upcoming launches, links to new astronomical information that may be posted to the web, etc.

4. Provide a forum for discussion of the best ways to view and/or take pictures of astronomical events, usage of telescopes, etc.

Anyone with an interest in astronomy and the objectives above is welcome and encouraged to join!
