Given the increase in incidents received by PandaLabs involving the Sober.A
worm, Panda Software has made its PQREMOVE application available to all
users to repair any possible damage caused to computers by this malicious
code. This utility can be downloaded free of
charge by anyone who needs it, from:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/download/utilities/
As Panda Software has previously reported, Sober.A is a worm that spreads
via e-mail with highly variable subjects and message texts in English or
German. The message also includes an attachment which, if run, causes a
false error message to appear.
Sober.A sends itself to all the addresses it finds in a number of files on
the computer, using its own SMTP engine. It stores all the addresses it
finds in the file %sysdir%\MACROMED\HELP\MEDIA.DLL.
One of the main dangers of Sober.A is that it leaves two resident copies of
itself running continually. If a user terminates one of the processes, or
deletes one of these copies, the other will start it up or create it again.
Users can also scan their computers using the free, online antivirus, Panda
ActiveScan, which is available at http://www.pandasoftware.com

StartPage Guard 2.2
http://www.securityconfig.com/software/cookie/startpage_guard_2.2.html
StartPage Guard (SPG) protects your PC from cyberscam, by detecting and
preventing any unauthorized
changes to your internet browsers Start and Search pages. It is also capable
of removing automatically most
of known invaders.
Malicious programs (viruses, trojans, backdoors, etc.) sometime change the
StartPage to gain the ground.
Spywares use this way to invade users privacy by tracking destinations which
user visited, and collecting
personal information. In some cases this activity may be totally transparent
to the user. But most often this is
just plain annoyance when start page is changed without asking users
permission. SPG effectively deals with
all this problems, making surfing the net safer, more secure, and by
reducing frustaration - more fun.

flower out of black pearls to win the game. Are you up for the challenge?

BaddTeddy Tutorials - How To Stop Receiving Spam
http://www.baddteddy.com/tutorials/spam.htm
Are you sick of spam? Tired of people sending you, your family and even your
children junk mail? Me too!
Everyone seems to have a theory on how to block spam, but we still get
mail boxes full of it. AOL says they are reducing spam, but your mail box
is still probably full of it. You can spend tons of money on filters, spam
blockers, etc., and yet you probably have a box full of spam (the other
white meat).
So what can you do?
The best way to reduce spam in your mail box is to start thinking like
a spammer. By the way, did you ever consider that spam and scam sound
almost the same? That spammer's are most likely scammers, and that they are
bad people trying to find a way to send advertisements to you for products
that are either a rip-off, don't work as promised or offer minors a view of
the world that they probably shouldn't see.

Remove Hotfix Backup Files in Windows XP
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_hotfix_backup.htm
This utility will locate the Hotfixes that have created backup files on your
system, and will remove those backups. It will also removes the associated
Registry entries for these items in Add/Remove Programs. It does not check
for new versions of programs like Media Player, Internet Explorer and etc.
It only removes those Hotfix backups designated with a Qxxxxxx or KBxxxxxx
number.
This is a one-way operation.
If you remove the Hotfix backup files and the Registry entries, it cannot be
undone, unless you back up these items manually.

Get Shorty
Note: This tip applies to Windows 98, Windows Me (Millennium Edition), and
Windows XP.
A shortcut is an icon that provides easy access to any program, document, or
folder. A shortcut icon generally looks like the original icon, but it has a
small arrow in the lower-left corner.
The original (non-shortcut) icon for a program, document, or folder
represents the actual file. So if you delete the original icon, you delete
the entire underlying file. This is not a good thing. A shortcut, on the
other hand, is a small link to the original icon. You can create, move,
copy, and delete shortcuts at will without worrying about deleting the
actual underlying file.

EasyCleaner 2.0 BETA 2, so close to the final! FREE
http://www.toniarts.com/index.htm
But titled BETA, still a good punch, does the job efficiently and
accurately. I recommend using this BETA 2 instead of the 1.7f, don't let the
BETA status fool you. Now that I've got Windows XP + the oldies, I've got
some extensive testing done, so this is indeed compatible with the newest
software, never forgetting backwards compatibility as well.
