Reviews of Ad-aware Spybot and MS Antispy
http://www.pchell.com/reviews/spyware.shtml
With the overwhelming majority of computers infested with spyware and
adware, most people want a way to remove these pests without reformatting
the computer so they turn to spyware removal programs. In fact, within the
last month, Microsoft themselves have purchased and rebranded Giant
Company's AntiSpyware program and are now distributing the Microsoft Windows
Antispyware (beta) program for users of Windows 2000, XP and later.
There are currently so many spyware removal programs on the market, which
ones really work?

OpD2d - Direct to disk audio recorder free
http://www.opcode.co.uk/opd2d/default.asp
Tested on Windows 98, NT, 2000 and XP.
This is a very simple little audio recording application. It can be used to
easily record anything you can get into your soundcard direct onto your hard
disk. You might also have noticed that it's got a bit of an odd interface.

It was originally written to make use of the Yamaha SW1000 XG soundcard's
ability to record the digital audio that it's playing. This is a really
useful feature that combined with this app means I can record streaming
audio from the internet direct to my hard disk, then burn it onto CD.

It now turns out that this feature is built into Windows XP. So anyone with
a Windows PC can record audio to their heart's content.

Now with MP3 support!
OpD2d now supports recording direct to disk in MP3 format. Can you guess who
got an iPod recently?

Save As Command
The Save As command gives you a chance to save your work with a different
name, in a different
location, or in a different format.

Suppose you open the Random Musings file in your Miscellaneous Stuff
directory and change a
few sentences around. You want to save the changes, but you don't want to
lose the original stuff.
So you select File, Save As and type the new name, "Additional Random
Musings."

Note: The Save As command is identical to the Save command when you're first
trying to save
something new: You can choose a fresh name and location for your work.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial98.html
Recently Microsoft has released a beta version of their AntiSpyware program.
This tutorial will cover in detail how to install, configure, and scan your
computer using this program in the most effective and efficient manner. As
this program is a beta, there are certain aspects of the program that may
not work correctly as of yet. As new features are added or changed, this
tutorial will be modified to reflect these changes. Please remember that
since this program is still in the beta stage of development, you use it at
your own risk.
