Bill:
As I alluded earlier the 240 N is not a NIOSH approved apparatus as it was designed for military ops. The biggest differences are the lack of an audible alarm and rubber components designed to withstand certain chemicals. The hoses only will connect to a military mask as well.
To get your unit "upgraded" to look like a typical BioPak 240 LW that we built back in the 1980s and 1990s we would need to change out the hoses and get you a mask.
Of course it could only be shown and never worn which you have stated to as your intentions.
As long as you know we have upgraded our apparatus twice since that design with the most recent being the 240 Revolution about three years ago (www.biopak240r. com) I can accommodate your needs. Please contact me so we can work out the details. Our contact info is on the website. Fill out the contact page and I will call you. Our may email me your info at ted.beck@neutronics

Look forward to talking to you.

Ted, I just want a model to demonstrate for classroom purposes. Chances are I'll never fill the tanks. First I have no book and second I have no way of pressure testing internal tanks. I teach for the Operating Engineers Local Union 324 (the heavy equipment people) in Michigan. we have several Mines located here and I wanted this as a class prop. It works for a prop in this form but would look better for class if I had a mask that would attach to it. Is it possible to retrofit it to accomodate some other mask, for demonstration purposes only?

These were designed specifically for the Navy, hence the N, and used a military face mask and the connectors will not fit anything but the Mil Mask. You will need new hoses and either a Scott or AGA mask at a minimum.
