By today's standards that's not very fast at all. I was thinking more along the

By today's standards that isn't much. Even moderately active shooters will do 10
times that number. I suspect you'll find yourself firing off many more frames
when film is removed from the equation.

If you mean ISO 400 film compared to ISO 400 digital images, I don't think
you'll be disappointed. 400 generally looks quite good.
If you mean camera handling, I can't really say since I've never used a Maxxum
7; but other people have said the 7D compares favorably. The 5D produces exactly
the same images, but with a smaller body and simpler interface.

Indeed. It's even low by today's entry level P&S digital standard. But that
doesn't mean much. Six high quality megapixels are still sufficient for what
most people want to do with their photographs.

If that requires high ISO shooting you probably should avoid the A100. Although it's capable of nice sharp images, it doesn't perform well in the high ISO...

My preference is with A700 even though it is not identical. I use Dynax 7 (Maxxum 7) for film and Sony A700 for Digital. I tried 7D but even though it is tough...

Thanks for info. I used vertical grips with Maxxum 5 and 7 so I could use rechargeable batteries. I think the Sonys and D7 use rechargeable batteries. So...
