This group is dedicated to the mostly orphanned Windows CE platform of Handheld PCs, with primary emphasis on the NEC MobilePro. These are the "clamshell" style devices with a screen and a keyboard, and nicely filled the now empty void between the "Palm" style devices without a keyboard (including the new PocketPC) and true notebook/laptop computers. Sadly, Microsoft and the various hardward manufacturers are abandoning this platform, which is very sad since most people who have ever used a handheld PC wonder what they ever did without one.

This platform has always been poorly promoted, usually only in corporate environments, but it really should have been more heavily promoted in the general public market, especially to students.

This group has been created for the purpose of sharing various freeware applications (especially the CE 2.0 ones that are getting harder to find), as well as helping each other with technical issues since most of the hardware manufactures no longer support these devices.
