Description

Welcome to the Mt. Bachelor Star Party Yahoo Group

The Mt. Bachelor Star Party now consists of two annual events each year. One located in Brothers, Oregon, and the other in Sunriver, Oregon .

2012 Brothers Star Party: June 21st to 23rd

2012 Sunriver Star Party: Sept. 13th to 15th

The new Brothers, Or. site provides camping area where observers can set up their telescopes and equipment at their camp site. This is a primitive location so bring needed water and food. It has very dark skies that easily compare to OSP to the North of this location. Portable toilet facilities are located on site. The Sunriver site has surprisingly dark skies, and will be at the Sunriver Nature Center. The new 30” DOB will be available, and provides some great views. This is during the late tourist season, and local accommodations can easily be found. Camp sites can be found in the area around Sunriver or South in LaPine. Just up the road is Bend, Oregon, a beautiful city with parks, brew pubs, and shopping areas that includes a large outlet mall. Got some equipment you want to sell? Bring it for the Swap Meet.

Join us here for conversation, hints, comments and information on the next event, or to talk about the last star party.

ATTENTION! Space will be limited at the Sunriver location and observing sites will be designated and reserved on a first come / first served basis.
