Strictly SQL, not .NET, but worth its weight.

Subject: [MustHaveBooksForAspNetProgrammers] Advanced sql books
I have alot of sql/oracle books so I am looking for an advanced sql
book that really gets deeply in joins etc, that may concentrate on
ms.net etc I am really looking for a killer book.......
Yahoo! Groups Links
Yes I have used it and it led me into solutions for many not so common
problems. Besides when I bought it I was based in Amazon reviews which where
very good at that time.

I got dino esposito's book xml using xslt......
My Answer to you is this Michael Kay's wrox books on
the subject xslt, xpath 2.0 and 1.0 seem to me the way to go....
The other book is jeni tennison beginning xslt. Apress
(old wrox book-code may be updated-not sure) seems the way to
go. By the way Apress(old wrox books) has a website you can see the
programming code on a limited basis......
hi,
please send me the ebooks for ASP.NET1.1 using visualc# 2003 of

Basically 5 or so chapters on refactoring concepts, with the rest of
the book being refactoring "recipes". The recipes follow a pattern of:
when presented with this scenario, try applying this refactor.
I found this book by Fowler pretty easy to read have incorporated a few
of his thoughts into my coding repertoire.
Martin Fowler's refactoring http://tinyurl.com/5r2fk is the bible for
this subject, at least until O'Reilly comes up with a "HeadFirst"
version.

You guys and your praise of a book by a great guy that is just a bad
book reminds me of the people who INSISTED American cars were still
great when Foreign cars were clearly superior. They called it
patriotism but it allowed American cars to remain poor for many years
by giving them guaranteed sales to the sycophants/jingoists.
That kind of misguided loyalty hurts Dan rather than helps him; why
does he need to improve his book if giving away some evals or helping
people on groups (his help on groups and his XMLForAsp.net site are
nice) can buy praise for a really medicore to bad book that cannot
compete. I own his book and many others. The 3 I list below will truly
get somebody going with accurate complete information whereas his book
is just too incomplete. It is also unfair to Kirk Allen Evan and Dino
Esposito who put more time into their books (although I prefer the 3
below) to just praise Dan's book without looking at their excellent
competition as well. Their books did not grab me at first glance (way
too verbose and filled with questionable techniques and lack of wise
application of XML) but they are still a better bargain than Dans.

I am still thinking about getting distributed data applications by
alex homer...Is their a good book on web services that could go
along with this book?
First of all I am glad you mentioned sql,vb
that is good. First of all I believe you should
get a good book on C# or vb.net teaching object
oriented programming using classes. I have deitel's
books on C# or vb.net. These books are not perfect
(no book is perfect-because .net is so big-you may
want to look at apress or oreilly. These two
publishers provide quality work. I do not work
for either of them!2.get a good asp.net book
some people like walther's asp unleashed (it is
written in vb-cd has vb.net code) I liked jesse
liberty's book programming asp.net by oreilly
(written in C# and vb.net)3.THe other item
I want to mention is Cristian darie has two books on
.net development Beginning asp.net e commerce 1.1 from
novice to professional that uses n-tier programming
techniques-stored procedures(SQL, Oracle) and
Cristian darie really cares about the quality of this
book. Their will be a new edition coming out in june
or july(Asp 2.0) using both C# or Vb.net. Right now
this book is out only in vb.net and it is written for
visual studio. If your programming environment is in
web matrix then he has another book out also. One more
programming suggestion their is a great example of a
web form in microsoft-go to their web site and check
out grocer to go. Look for a e-commerce web form

I basically need to know how does the middle tier components are now developed in .NET as there are no dll's stuff. how is the architecture etc.
