Thanks to everyone that provided feedback on the hosting stuff.
Some actually inquired as to if there would be an interest in creating
an industry consortium that backs a single hosting facility and pays for their respective
percentage of use based on completed surveys and data storage.
Next quick question….
Do any of you have experience running both Confirmit and
mrInterview side-by-side in the same facility?
I’m curious to know your thoughts. Again, feel free to respond
directly to me if you don’t want to respond to the list.
Many thanks,

Subject: [NADUG] mrInterview grid hosting.
Over the past few months, we’ve received
several requests to use our hosting facility….. various groups want to
supplement their server farms with our abundant capacity.
We’re thinking of opening up our global
data collection hosting facility to 3rd parties, hosted by IP-SOFT
in a virtual environment.
Whereby, there is a 24/7 DIY secure web
interface (not based on Dimensions.NET). You take the already written
scripts from mrStudio, upload and compile on our servers, create sample tables
and other necessary configurations, and then watch the results in real-time and
track the performance from our tracking routers that sit in-front of
mrinterview…….exporting data into whatever desired format as often as you like
in our mrtables-like reporting tools for 1 month.
Your data would be isolated from
everyone else’s data in our secure network (i.e. no one can get to your data
except you and our managed hosting provider, IP-SOFT).
Obviously there are a lot more details,
but you get the overall idea. Reliable 24/7 hosting of servers and
mrInterview by IP-SOFT, leveraging all the enterprise apps that GfK has written
to better scale mrInterview.
What is a fair price to charge for such
a hosting service? Say $500 a project, flat-fee?
I’m looking or some feedback.
Many thanks,
-David Zotter à GFK
