Description

Mining Near Earth Asteroids.
If mining Near Earth Asteroids for bullion and fuel becomes feasible, this will trigger the development of commercial logistics and infrastructure in Low Earth Orbit. This group explores pathways to commercial viability of LEO-infrastructures as a precondition for a sustained effort at settling Mars.
The objective is to put together a case for the mining industry to consider investing in prospecting for asteroids, and in the required space infrastructures.

The group branched out from the general-discuss list of Marshome and reports its findings back on that list. Anybody can join. If you are not yet a member and want to contribute, click on above button "Join This Group". Also see our "static"website

Presently active subgroups are: CHEMPHYS on chemistry and physical structure of NEAs / PROCESSORS on the machinery that processes NEA material / SCOUT on a first scouting mission to potential NEAs / HABITATS on bootstrapping habitats / ORBITUGS on tugs in Earth orbit /

Look up the "List of Discussion Groups" in the Files section to also find the dormant ones on navigation, robotics, employment and incorporation.

Re: Hopper D//micro thrust, hydrogen peroxide +
Yes, as I thought you were getting into.  So hydrogen peroxide is a reasonable hypergolic, and for very fine work should be an option for some of the tugs and
