Description

Welcome to the official electronic forum of the Next Generation Language Project (NGL)!

¡Ac daxoso u' q yus à q xomjan Tokcir à q Sau'ekonul Kai' (NGL, à q Angeltok)!

NGL is a project to design an artificial language, or "conlang", called Tokcir. Tokcir is meant to be a language of the future, being fully modern and modernistic in vocabulary and outlook. Tokcir is not an International Auxiliary Language (IAL), and so does not have to be simple or designed with the idea in mind of maximising ease of second language acquisition. However, it must obey "language universals" and be speakable, with the idea in mind that it is to be the language of a hypothetical first-language community.

NGL is a group effort. Although a fairly large amount has been done on vocabulary and grammar, and there even exists a corpus of work in the language (search Google Groups on NGL and narrowing search terms for more details), there is still much to be done in terms of language building, and new project members are welcome. If you are interested in composing in Tokcir and/or helping to develop the language, please refer to the materials in our Files section to help you get started.

We regret that on account of the fact the project went quiet for a period of about a year and only recently re-started, our old group archives on eGroups were lost. However, Google Groups searches will turn up much of the missing data.
