Hi Di and all
We brought up the issue of the "trash box" as you call it, when we had our training on NOTEbookS in June last year and Beau sent us the information on how to set it up if we were interested. Our IT department were not happy to set this up on our side as these settings would be lost when templates were replaced. They said that Beau should put it in his template. Beau said that he could not do this as it would affect all of the customers and each of us have diferent needs/requirements. Our IT department suggested that deletion rights be given to a select few people and that those people are extremely careful when deleting.
I have found that when I mark records for deletion, I only mark a few at a time, carefully making sure that they are the correct records. I then press F9 which refreshes the view and at this point it asks you whether you would like to delete xyz number of records - you say YES and it deletes them and leaves you in the database. This way you don't get asked when logging out of the database at the end of the day whether you want to delete records and then you cannot remember.
Hope this information is useful.
Regards
Pam Hutchison
