The author of "The Cast Iron Forest," Dr. Richard Francaviglia, is
February's guest at the "Sundays at the Doss" series of cultural and
historical lectures in its Heritage Hall area. This landmark book
describes the natural environment of the Cross Timbers and interprets
the role that people have played in transforming the region. Dr
Francaviglia was awarded the prestigious Carroll Abbott Award in 2005
by NPSOT for his work on the book.
The Doss Heritage and Culture Center is located at 1400 Texas Drive in
Weatherford. The lecture is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, where Dr.
Francaviglia will share excerpts from his book. There is no cost to
attend the lecture.
