I've been in business for myself for 3 years now and have yet to get
an ad in the YP or any other activity except for an upcoming web
page and the occassional sign / page ad for the local Little League,
etc.
I live 50 miles from the area I normally work in and around so an ad
in my hometown phone book would be pointless.
I've often asked clients how they have heard about me. Their
responses include:
1. Recommendation from regulatory agency (actually a list that's
handed out).
2. The state's health department web site.
3. Recommendation from a surveyor or PE.
4. Recommendation from another client.
of course, we're so busy here in Northern Virginia, I actually get
recommendations from other NSCSS members -- and vice-versus.
If, however, I am forced to get ads in YP in the future, we get to
select the headings we go under and in my local books, Soil
Scientist is an option. I even suspect AOSE and NSF Inspector would
also be available for a small fee, of course.
Hope all is well and I hope to be able to come to Georgia this fall
to see southern Piedmond soils.
