I should most likely be there tomorrow, still a little blah but tomorrow should be better.
I am bringing a Jerked Pork Tenderloin with a golden Fig glaze & Red Beans and Rice.
By the time I get there it will have cooled down so it will need to be thrown in the oven for about 7 minutes.  Will there be plates and plastic ware there?

See you all tomorrow

Hi everyone!
It looks like Saturday will be great for both the anniversary party and
observing! Finally, it looks like it is actually going to happen!
I say we get the 'party' started around 3, considering the time change,
because it is pretty darn dark at 6pm now.
For those new, this is a cookout to celebrate our 5th anniversary,
postponed from last month due to the weather. Jeff's bringing the hot
dogs and such, we will provide the plates, napkins, silverware, grill,
etc., and Craig is bringing cheesecake (!!!). That is all that I can
remember. We will need for someone to bring drinks, chips, and other
goodies. Weren't you going to bring cookies or something Josh?
If everyone brings something, we should have enough. I have no idea of
how many people to plan for at present, so a show of hands of those who
plan to come would be appreciated.
This event is for everyone, members and nonmembers, old members and new
ones(and remember that there are no fees here, if you are reading this
via Yahoo, you are a member.)

I'll be glad to send or resend directions to anyone who needs them-just
let me know where you will be coming from so I know what directions to
give you. Do not rely on GPS or online maps. They are anywhere from
500 ft to 4 miles off. It is easy to get lost here and cell phone
coverage is spotty at best, so please use my directions so you find us
quickly.
Bobby,,,from 136, are you going into Calhoun, turning at Sugar Valley,
or turning on Pocket road? Which is most familiar to you?

Bev

Just came in from about 3 hours of Smyrna, Ga urban star gazing.  Actually, conditions were pretty good for these parts tonight.

Pam and I are planning on coming.  We're looking forward to meeting you all.  I think hot dogs and chips really need some potato salad and cold slaw to go with them.  So that's what we'll be bringing.

I'll be glad to send or resend directions to anyone who needs them-just
let me know where you will be coming from so I know what directions to
give you. Do not rely on GPS or online maps. They are anywhere from
500 ft to 4 miles off. It is easy to get lost here and cell phone
coverage is spotty at best, so please use my directions so you find us
quickly.
Bobby,,,from 136, are you going into Calhoun, turning at Sugar Valley,
or turning on Pocket road? Which is most familiar to you?

Hey!
I recall that you liked my sig file! The current one isn't quite as
good, but I try to keep the file on my email when my kid is deployed
underwater just as a reminder, you know. People don't realize how long
6 or 7 months without contact really is. When he calls me in January,
when the Key West is back at Pearl, I'll change the file. I've used it
since June this year. I look forward to meeting you guys on Saturday.
Oh, and in this part of Georgia, life, and change, moves at a much, much
slower pace. The directions are still good.

Yes, Andrew, non-alcoholic drinks: coke (soda), lemonade and the like. :)
Looking forward to seeing you again, Andrew.
For the new folks, we do have a no alcohol policy due to the fact that
we try to maintain a family, kid friendly atmosphere and alcohol
increases the possibility of accidents. It is a party, but not that
kind of party...

Sorry all. I decided to order one of those motor controls and found they aren't
free store pickup, like it says. It must be limited to in store inventory and
the one around here is out. Bummer.

Oh well, on to my next project. DIY motor focus. :-)

If anyone is interested, I found a PWM motor controller kit at Fry's. Darned
thing is only $10. I probably spent $6 on my little high/low switch. Might
have to pick one of these up at the local Fry's.

my hardwired hi/low switch worked out pretty well, but I know a PWM controller
would use less juice and the range of control sure would be nice.

of the board (they are crammed into an album). I hope I didn't make any errors
on my schematic.

pulled out of an old busted stereo. I think the RCA type connector is the
standard for commercial units so that makes upgrading my heaters will be problem
free. The case I used was from an old 14.4 external modem (no point in even
checking to see if it worked). The pwr connector is also on the back and uses an
off the shelf connector that I use on all my homemade stuff so I can swap pwr
cords if one should fail. The main heart of unit is a 555 time and a P36NE
MOSFET transistor. Here is a link to the transistor
(http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/24382/STMICROELECTRONICS/STP36N\
E06FP.html ). I looked at Mouser electronics and the part is discontinued but
I'm sure someone has a replacement. The circuit include an led that comes on
when the unit is providing current to the heater. It's not absolutely necessary
but I like to know when things are happening and it's good for troubleshooting.
