The New York Whale and Dolphin Action League is an educational and outreach resource for information and alerts on issues affecting marine mammals and especially cetaceans (whales and dolphins) serving parties based but not exclusively in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area. Discussion topics should focus on the US Navy/NATO's use of Low Frequency Active Sonar (LFAS), whaling, captivity, pollution and habitat degradation. Media programs, local outreach and direct action events, including those which express a basic First Amendment right to exercise one's freedom of speech will appear on this list. Members are free to interact through this group, and are encouraged to post information and action alerts for marine mammals worldwide.
